Online Event: Working for the UN

How can a motivated Swiss professional join a United Nations Organisation such as UNICEF or UNFPA? What kind of assignments does UNV offer? What are the opportunities and challenges a career in the UN presents?

During an interactive webinar Human Resources specialists provided first-hand information about entry opportunities, sought profiles, and the exciting work at these organisations. Organised by cinfo on behalf of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the webinar’s objective is to attract more Swiss nationals, from mid- to senior level, to work for UNV, UNICEF and UNFPA.

Save the date: A second webinar for Swiss mid to senior level professionals about Working for the UN will take place on 6 September, 7 - 8 PM CEST (Swiss time), with UNDP, UN Women and UNV.

Claudia Garcia de San Roman, UNV

Claudia Garcia de San Roman is currently the Outreach and Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator at UNV Headquarters in UNV Bonn, Germany. She is a former Recruitment and Programme Associate in UNV HQ in charge of the Latin American Portfolio, the portfolio for Electoral assignments worldwide, etc. Before joining UNV HQ in Bonn, Claudia was a Project Officer at UNDP Guatemala and earlier she was in charge of the operations in the local UNV field office in Guatemala, her own country.

Antonino Brusá, UNICEF

Antonino Brusá has served with the UN since 1990. He has worked in several countries across five continents, in different development contexts, including in emergencies. He has a strong passion for coaching and mentoring young generations, for assessing talent and for career development counselling. In his career he served as Regional Chief of HR in three UNICEF Regions. He is currently the Chief of the Mobility and Staffing Section.

Michael Dahl, UNFPA

Michael Dahl is currently the Chief for the Talent Management Branch at the UNFPA in New York. ​Before joining UNFPA, Michael was a Senior HR Business Partner with UNICEF for 4 years. Earlier Michael was working for the World Bank Group for 11 years where he first started as a JPO and then later worked as a Sr HR Business Partner. Michael is a Danish national and has a M.Sc. in HR from Copenhagen and worked at the Danish Ministry of Education for 4 years before joining the UN/WB. 

Nora Landheer, cinfo

Nora Landheer is an advisor in the marketing of human resources and recruitment at cinfo. She is responsible for outreach and recruitment projects and brings her own experience in human resource management, acquired within the United Nations. She worked for United Nations peace operations in Nepal, at headquarters in New York, and for the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) Programme in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. She holds a Master's Degree in International Relations and a CAS in Strategic Human Capital Management.
